A collection of 10 classic cocktails
Clarified Jungle Bird
I LOVE this cocktail. It’s my favorite one to clarify. Why clarify? It taste awesome. It's silky in texture. Think of a milkshake NEIPA for the beer lovers compared to a west coast style IPA. It's like a fat wash but a milk fat wash instead.
Mezcal Sour
This is a nice cool weather cocktail with spiced notes. The @angosturahouse cocoa bitters elevate the cocktail and add complexity.
Eggnog
Large-batch boozy eggnog. The recipe lists a 16 oz spirit portion — choose Cognac, Rum, Whiskey, or Tequila as preferred. Measurements are shown as given; chill before serving. Optional substitutions: different sherry, partial sherry swap for banana liqueur, or different aged spirit.
Thou Shall Not Be Named
The Boulevardier inspired this cocktail recipe riff, made with tequila and mezcal instead of whiskey, and Amaro Sfumato instead of Campari.
The Bitter Giuseppe
Classic amaro-forward cocktail. If you’re not using Cynar 70, it becomes a lower-ABV beverage. Some recipes express a lemon peel into the mixing glass and discard.
Revolver 43
A slight riff on the original Revolver cocktail — a bourbon and coffee liqueur stirred cocktail with a touch of Licor 43 for sweetness and orange aroma.
The Champs-Élysées
Cognac cocktail with Green Chartreuse, lemon and Angostura.
The Lion's Tail
A cozy bourbon cocktail featuring pimento (allspice) dram — a forgotten classic from the Café Royal Cocktail Book (1937).
Salmoncito
Instagram caption: Salmoncito — a Mexican modern-classic: Gin, Campari, grapefruit juice, topped with tonic. Served in a large double old-fashioned over a big rock or very cold ice.
Carajillo Old Fashioned
A stirred Carajillo-inspired Old Fashioned combining tequila reposado, Licor 43 and coffee liqueur with cacao and orange bitters.
