The Lion's Tail

A cozy bourbon cocktail featuring pimento (allspice) dram — a forgotten classic from the Café Royal Cocktail Book (1937).

Ingredients

  • Bourbon 2 oz
  • Allspice Dram (Pimento Dram) 1/2 oz
  • Simple Syrup 1/4 oz
  • Fresh Lime Juice 3/4 oz
  • Angostura Bitters 3 dash

Garnish: Lime Zest

Instructions

    Add bourbon, allspice dram, simple syrup, fresh lime juice, and Angostura bitters to a shaker filled with ice.

    Shake until well chilled.

    Strain into a chilled coupe.

    Express lime zest over the cocktail and garnish with the zest.
